This product family offers the capability of interfacing up to 16 channels of standard definition and high definition video signals across fibre optic links.
The basic system comprises of a 1RU rack mount unit which houses up to 8 interface modules. These modules can be a combination of fibre optic transmitter and receivers. The system incorporates an advanced diagnostics and monitoring system accessible via the front panel or the in-built web interface.
In order to provide the maximum flexibility, the modules may be mixed and matched to provide the interfaces that you require and four 2x2 routers are included for signal routing, SDI DA, and Fibre Protection switching functions.
This unit provides up to 16 channels of Digital Video to Fibre Optic conversion all within a compact 1RU unit, achieving distances of over 20km on single mode fibre. This is achieved by the fitting of up to 8 interface modules.
In order to facilitate ease of use and future proofing, the CTP2100 is compatible with both standard and high definition signals. The unit auto detects the video rate in use and supports data rates of 143, 177, 270, 360, 540, 1483.5 and 1485Mb/s. DVB-ASI at 270Mb/s is also supported. The unit will display the detected rate for each channel.
Manual override is provided to fix the rate if desired. Dual power supplies are used to provide redundancy protection as well as extensive power supply and internal temperature monitoring, giving the CTP2100 unrivalled fault prediction and prevention facilities.
To compliment the powerful performance monitoring systems, advanced remote diagnostics are provided allowing the monitoring and control of any function or diagnostic facility within the unit. The unit is accessed via an encrypted Ethernet network connection for security using SNMP or the in-built web server. This web server allows the connection to the unit using a standard web browser, e.g. Explorer or Netscape to display status information and control the unit.
Using this advanced facility, Emails can also be generated In order to maximise the performance of the video cable connection, the unit features automatic cable equalisation to maximise the cable lengths with signal reclocking as standard. The fibre optic interface allows the connection of standard singlemode fibre via an SC, ST or FC connector. This will achieve typical connection distances of up to 20km. The CTP2100 employs Claratech’s state-of-the-art Fibre Performance Monitor (FPM) technology which can warn of an impending fibre transmitter problem, before it happens. This helps prevent the sudden loss of any channels due to internal failures.
Four 2x2 router functions are also provided for router, SDI DA, and fibre protection switching functions.
